Political commentator George T. Diano has raised serious allegations against Citizen TV journalist Jeff Koinange, claiming he hit a boda boda rider in Westlands yesterday around noon.

According to Diano’s post on X, Koinange was driving his G-Wagon, which is often seen without a number plate, and was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

The commentator stated that Koinange fled the scene immediately after the collision. The injured boda boda rider is currently admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital with broken legs.

Diano condemned the journalist’s actions as part of a wider problem of “entitlement among elites,” who break the law without facing accountability.

“This entitlement among elites, breaking the law without accountability must stop,” Diano wrote, suggesting that police may be attempting to cover up the incident.

He also warned that he has evidence, including the official police OB (Occurrence Book) number, to support the claims if Koinange denies them.

“Mimi kama mtetezi wa Walala Hoii Niko radar yake mbaya. I’ll produce the OB number if he denies this claims,” Diano added.

The allegations have sparked discussion on social media, with many Kenyans questioning how public figures are held accountable for traffic violations and other legal infractions.

If verified, the claims could raise serious legal and ethical questions about road safety enforcement and the responsibilities of high-profile individuals in Kenya.

Authorities are expected to investigate the matter as public attention continues to mount.
