I had run my small shop for six years without any major problems. It wasn’t perfect, but it paid my bills, fed my family, and slowly grew through loyal customers.
I knew most people who walked in by name. That is why the stranger stood out the moment he entered. He didn’t browse or ask prices.
He just stood near the counter, looked around quietly, then said one sentence that still echoes in my mind.
“This place will never grow beyond this.” He smiled slightly and walked out.
