The late Evans Mwaura Githua, CEO of Nairobi-based IT solutions firm Com Twenty One, was cremated on Christmas Day in line with instructions left in his will, which stipulated that his body be cremated within 24 hours of his death.
The private ceremony was attended by a small circle of close family and friends.
Githua, 51, died in a suspected suicide after jumping from the 14th floor of a building along Kasuku Road, Nairobi.
Security camera footage reviewed by authorities supported this conclusion, though the official cause of death has not been publicly released.
A requiem mass was held on Christmas Eve in Nairobi, with attendance limited due to the holiday season and many relatives traveling.
The sudden loss of Githua shocked Kenya’s business community, as he was known for his dynamic leadership and had recently secured major deals for Com Twenty One, a leading ICT solutions and systems integration firm with branches across the country.
Colleagues and industry peers expressed deep condolences, highlighting Githua’s contributions to Kenya’s technology sector and the impact of his work on digital solutions nationwide.
Despite the tragic circumstances of his death, family members emphasized their respect for his final wishes in ensuring a swift, private cremation.
The company confirmed that operations will continue under interim management, with a focus on maintaining ongoing projects and honoring Githua’s legacy in the ICT industry.
