Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo Mabona has drawn online attention after responding to a public love message posted by a young man on Facebook.

The exchange occurred on Sunday and quickly circulated across social media platforms, attracting mixed reactions from users.

The message was posted by a man identified as Ken Ja Obera, who openly expressed admiration for the legislator in a light-hearted post written in Sheng and Kiswahili.

In the post, Obera referred to the MP affectionately and asked fellow users to help him get her phone number.

"Milly Odhiambo, walai wewe ndiyo msichana natamani kudate hapa duniani. Guys mnipatie namba ya huyu beby girl. Haki Amillo feel most loved kamama I love Abebo," the gen Z posted.

Odhiambo responded shortly after with a brief comment, writing: “And just like that nimepata Christmas date.”

The remark was interpreted by many as a humorous response rather than a formal statement, and it further amplified engagement around the post.

The interaction comes at a time when Kenyan politicians are increasingly active on social media, often using platforms such as Facebook and X to engage directly with the public.

Such exchanges, whether political or personal, frequently attract attention due to the public profiles of those involved.

Odhiambo, a long-serving MP and a prominent figure in national politics, is known for her outspoken communication style and active online presence.

Her response did not include any personal details or further engagement beyond the single comment.

Following the exchange, social media users offered varied reactions, with some viewing it as a harmless and humorous moment, while others debated the boundaries between public office and personal interactions online.

There was also no indication that the exchange would lead to any offline engagement, and neither party has provided additional clarification beyond the initial posts.

As of publication, the Facebook post and response remained visible, with continued commentary from users.

The incident highlights how informal social media interactions involving public officials can quickly gain traction, even when not related to policy or governance matters.
