Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has renewed his claim that former Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Francis Ogolla did not die by accident, insisting instead that the senior military officer was assassinated.
Kalonzo made the remarks during an interview with NTV on Sunday, reigniting debate around the 2024 military helicopter crash that claimed Ogolla’s life.
“I maintain that General Ogolla was taken out,” Kalonzo said, without providing new evidence to support the allegation.
His comments echo an earlier statement issued on December 6, 2025, in which he questioned the official account of the incident and called for deeper scrutiny.
In the December remarks, Kalonzo argued that the country must confront what he described as “hard questions,” saying the region had lost influential figures under circumstances that should not be ignored.
“Gen Ogolla did not fall to an accident. He was taken out,” he said at the time, adding that Kenyans owed it to themselves to pursue the truth without fear.
Kalonzo further linked his position to broader political ideals, stating that the country should be guided by what he termed “the Raila Vision,” and cautioned against betraying values he said the late general stood for.

General Ogolla, who was serving as CDF, died in April 2024 after a military aircraft crashed during an official mission.
The government later stated that investigations pointed to an accident, a position that has remained the official account.
Kalonzo’s renewed assertions are likely to fuel fresh political and public debate, with government officials yet to formally respond to his latest comments.
