ODM youth wing leader Kasmuel McOure has fired a pointed warning at party secretary-general and Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna, accusing him of siding with political opponents while holding a key leadership role in the party.
In a statement released on Monday, McOure challenged Sifuna to clarify his allegiance, saying: “Edwin Sifuna, you must decide whether you want to be the Secretary General of the ODM Party, or a village elder advancing the interests of our political enemies and detractors. This is a warning from the youth, to you and to leaders of your ilk.”
The youth leader’s remarks underline growing impatience within ODM’s younger membership over what they perceive as internal dissent and public criticism of the party’s positions on national governance.
McOure stressed that party leaders must prioritise ODM’s unity and agenda above personal or external political interests.
