Kileleshwa Ward MCA Robert Alai has fired a sharp response to Nyali MP Mohamed Ali’s warning to the family of the late former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo to have their own pathologist present during Wednesday’s post-mortem.

Alai accused political opportunists of trying to turn Jirongo’s death into a tool for ethnic and political manipulation.

“Every wannabe anarchist who failed to use tribally mobilised young people to launch political rebellion now hopes that Jirongo’s death is the perfect opportunity to attack Ruto and launch a political rebellion,” he said.

The MCA added that some leaders are wrongly assuming funerals can be used to divide communities.

M“These fools have come to believe that it’s easy to use a funeral to incite Luos and Luhyas. They tried with Raila and they failed,” Alai stated.

Nyali MP Mohamed Ali, a former investigative journalist, had urged the Jirongo family to ensure they have a pathologist present during the post-mortem, citing concerns that the official story of Jirongo’s death does not add up.

Ali noted that Jirongo had previously expressed fears for his personal safety.

The post-mortem, scheduled for Wednesday, is expected to be closely monitored by family representatives and authorities.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) continues to probe the collision that claimed Jirongo’s life on the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway, reviewing forensic evidence and CCTV footage.

With political leaders weighing in and public scrutiny high, Wednesday’s autopsy could be a defining moment in clarifying the circumstances of the late politician’s death—and curbing attempts to politicize the tragedy.
