Siaya Governor James Orengo has finally spoken about his political plans for the 2027 elections, leaving Kenyans guessing about which seat he might pursue.

In a candid interview with NTV on Monday night, the veteran politician said his decision will be shaped by the country’s national political landscape.

“I have not made a decision yet. Whatever choice I make will be determined by what is happening in national politics,” Orengo told reporters, signaling that he is taking a careful approach to his next move.

Known for his long career in politics, including years in Parliament and his current role as Siaya governor, Orengo has a reputation for strategic timing.

Political analysts say his statement reflects the fluid alliances and shifting coalitions that are expected to dominate the run-up to 2027.

While he stopped short of naming the seat he intends to contest, speculation is rife.

Some suggest he may defend his gubernatorial post, while others predict he could aim for a parliamentary or even a national position.

Orengo’s hint that his choice will align with national developments shows he is weighing both political influence and local interests.

The governor’s remarks have already sparked discussions across social media, with many Kenyans debating what his next move could mean for Siaya and the broader political scene.

As the 2027 elections approach, all eyes will be on Orengo to see how the veteran politician navigates Kenya’s ever-changing political landscape.
