Opiyo Wandayi Pays Heartfelt Tribute at Raila Odinga’s Bondo Grave (Photos)

Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi visited the grave of the late veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga in Kang’o Ka Jaramogi, Bondo Constituency, to pay his respects and honour the former Prime Minister’s legacy.

Speaking during the visit, Wandayi described Odinga as a “fallen hero” and expressed his admiration for the leader’s lifelong commitment to public service. 

“Honoured to pay homage to our departed leader the Right Honourable Raila Odinga at Kang’o Ka Jaramogi, Bondo Constituency to pay my respects and tribute to our fallen hero. Keep resting in peace, Baba,” he posted on social media.

Wandayi’s visit forms part of ongoing tributes at Odinga’s burial site, which has become a national pilgrimage point since the former Prime Minister was laid to rest in October 2025.

Thousands of Kenyans, including political figures across the spectrum, continue to visit to pay homage to Odinga, who remains a towering figure in Kenyan politics.

During the visit, Wandayi also met with members of the Odinga family, reflecting the respect and reverence accorded to the late leader. 

The grave, situated beside that of Odinga’s father, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, continues to attract both ordinary citizens and national leaders seeking to honour the late politician’s contributions to the country.
