Former Kenya Police officer Linda Okello, known for her service in the traffic unit and her viral moments while on duty, recently shared a heartwarming Facebook post after visiting her former colleagues, many of whom now hold top positions in the force.

Okello, who trained at Kiganjo Police Training College as part of Det 83’, spent over a decade serving in the Kenya Police before relocating abroad.

She became a public figure after a photograph of her in uniform went viral but continued to build her career and reputation, earning respect among her peers.

In her post, she revealed that her “course mates” are now some of the highest-ranking officers in the service.

“The top bosses now were my course mates! We trained together as recruits, kurutu, so I decided to pay them a visit,” she wrote, adding with humor, “At this point, I can walk into any office without knocking; those doors open on their own now.”

During her visit, Okello met Commandant Kapu, the Officer in Charge of Operations, and other senior officers—though not all were captured in photos.

She took the opportunity to reflect on their shared journey, remembering the early days of training and how life has shaped them all.

The reunion wasn’t just about work.

Okello also enjoyed the simple pleasures, noting the delicious samosa, sausage, and tea, joking that she could “eat them every day.”

She encouraged her fellow Det 83’ alumni to stay in touch, mentioning memorable spots from their training: Nyaribo, Naromoru, Chaka, and Horny River.
