Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma has delivered a scathing critique of Kenya’s political elite, warning that the country risks deepening division if leaders continue prioritizing personal gain over national unity.

Speaking on X, Kaluma argued that a “Broad Based Government” should go beyond 2027, urging regions including Rift Valley, Nyanza, North Eastern, Coast, Western, and Nairobi to work together.

He singled out Western Kenya, saying the region must move away from what he called “vane opposition politics” and unite under a single political voice.

Kaluma did not hold back in criticizing former President Uhuru Kenyatta, claiming he has refused to act as a statesman and is instead using ill-gotten wealth to manipulate young politicians, particularly in Nairobi.

He also targeted Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, insisting the deputy is barred from holding public office after impeachment.

Kaluma accused Gachagua of duping his supporters and backing Kalonzo Musyoka as his candidate because he sees Kalonzo as “weak and desperate.”

The MP’s remarks were capped with a call for leaders to “serve all Kenyans equally,” stressing that inclusive governance and equitable development are essential for stability.
