Former Cabinet Secretary for Public Service Moses Kuria has fired back at ODM MP Junet Mohamed over claims that former President Uhuru Kenyatta planned to inject more than Sh1 billion into the party ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Junet alleged the cash would be used to influence ODM’s internal leadership and push the party away from its broad-based government alignment.
Kuria responded sharply on social media, saying: “To my friend Junet Mohammed. I know there are many problems that ODM is going through. But I want to assure you that among the list of top 10 problems; Uhuru Kenyatta does not feature there. Look for your problems elsewhere brother.”
The former CS dismissed any involvement of Uhuru in ODM’s internal affairs, urging Junet to focus on the party’s real challenges.
Junet has not presented evidence to back his claims, while Kuria’s statement emphasizes that the alleged Sh1 billion funding has no basis in fact.
This exchange highlights tensions over party dynamics as politicians begin positioning ahead of the 2027 polls, but for now, Kuria’s words leave little room for doubt on the former president’s role.
