Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, and a group of top politicians visited the Nairobi home of the late Hon. Cyrus Jirongo on Monday to console his family after his death in a road accident on December 13, 2025.

The delegation also included Eugene Wamalwa, Speaker Emeritus JB Muturi, Senators Cleo Malala and Gloria Orwoba, Omino Magara, Philip Kisia, TG Gachoka, Ben Momanyi, and Wafula Wamunyinyi.

Kalonzo described Jirongo, widely known as “CJ,” as a man committed to Kenya’s democracy and national dialogue.

During the visit, Kalonzo urged authorities to conduct a full and transparent investigation into the accident. He emphasized that Jirongo’s widows—Ann Kanini, Christine Nyokabi, and Ann Lanoi—deserve answers.

“Accountability is not optional. Nothing should be concealed, and nothing should be ignored,” he said.

Jirongo, who played a key role in the One Kenya Alliance and the Azimio la Umoja–One Kenya Coalition, was remembered by Kalonzo as thoughtful, animated, and fully engaged in political discussions.

He recalled a photo taken before the 2022 elections showing Jirongo with other leaders at his Kithimani Farm.

Road accidents continue to claim lives across Kenya, making Jirongo’s death a reminder of the country’s ongoing safety challenges.

His passing has sparked calls for urgent measures to improve road safety and ensure independent investigations for high-profile cases.

Hon. Jirongo’s funeral is scheduled for December 30, 2025. Political leaders and the family insist that the circumstances of his death be clarified before the nation lays him to rest.
