Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has finally put speculation about her next political move to rest, revealing she harbors presidential ambitions—but not in 2027.
Speaking to the press on Monday, Waiguru said, “I will never be in a losing camp.
I have accepted the call to serve at the national level, and I have no doubt that one day I will run for the presidency, but not in 2027. For now, my priority is to support President Ruto to complete his term.”
Her statement comes as a clear signal that she is carefully plotting her rise in national politics, using her current gubernatorial experience as a springboard.
Waiguru, who will have served two terms by 2027, insists her immediate focus remains on boosting government projects and initiatives under President Ruto’s administration.
