Detectives investigating the death of former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo have intensified their probe following a raid on a Nairobi hotel he is reported to have visited just hours before the fatal accident.

Officials said the operation focused on reconstructing Jirongo’s movements and interactions in the hours leading to his death.

During the raid, police interrogated staff and collected information that could shed light on who the former legislator met and what he was doing at the time.

Sources indicate that detectives were particularly interested in timelines and any unusual activity at the establishment, although exact details remain undisclosed.

Hotel management refused to comment on the incident, maintaining silence as investigations continue.

Witnesses at the scene reported a significant police presence, with investigators moving methodically through the premises, questioning personnel, and reviewing potential records or surveillance materials.

It is understood that prior to visiting the hotel, Jirongo had left another popular spot in Karen and was traveling along key Nairobi roads, including Langata and Magadi Road.

Forensic analysis and tips from the public reportedly guided detectives to the location, suggesting the operation was part of a broader effort to map his final hours comprehensively.

No arrests were made during the raid, and officials emphasized that the investigation is ongoing.

Police appealed to anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist in clarifying the circumstances surrounding Jirongo’s sudden death.

The latest developments underscore the careful and secretive nature of the probe as detectives piece together the events leading up to one of Nairobi’s most high-profile fatalities in recent years.
