Musician and businesswoman Akothee has opened up about her brief marriage to Denis “Omosh” Schweizer, revealing the personal reasons behind their split just weeks after their high-profile wedding.

In a candid social media post, Akothee described the union as a “big wedding, small marriage,” admitting that she fell into a relationship she later realized was unsustainable.

She said the key issue was her partner’s undisclosed mental health challenges.

According to Akothee, Omosh never shared that he had been battling bipolar disorder, and she struggled to cope with his frequent emotional outbursts.

“What I, Esther Akoth Kokeyo, cannot accept in a relationship is dishonesty,” she wrote. “I felt betrayed when I discovered his condition by myself. I couldn’t continue in a marriage that was hurting me emotionally.”

The outspoken artist acknowledged the public nature of their wedding, noting the pressure and scrutiny that came with it.

She stressed that despite the spectacle, she had to prioritize her own wellbeing.

“Imagine the whole world watching such a beautiful wedding only for it to last three weeks,” she said.

Akothee also addressed the impact on her family, noting the embarrassment and stress her mother endured, but affirmed that no one, not even family, can force her to stay in an unhealthy relationship.

She expressed hope that her children would never face similar situations, calling such experiences “suicidal” for anyone unprepared to handle them.

While the split has attracted widespread attention online, Akothee’s message underscores the importance of honesty, self-respect, and mental health awareness in relationships.

She concluded by asserting her resilience and determination to move forward, despite the short-lived marriage.

The revelation adds to ongoing discussions about mental health, transparency, and the pressures faced by public figures in personal relationships, reminding fans that even high-profile weddings can mask deep challenges.
