Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has hit back at claims that he used blogger Maverick Aoko to attack the Odinga family online.
The MP says Aoko acts independently and he has never instructed her to target anyone.
“Maverick is my friend and a fierce supporter, but she is independent-minded. I do not know her sources and have never told her to attack the Odinga Family,” Owino said in a statement posted on X.
Owino also reassured the public of his close ties with the Odinga family, especially Mama Ida.
“Winnie Odinga is my friend, Junior is my friend, and Rosemary is my friend too. Mama Ida loves me like her own son, welcomes me home, and gives me food whenever I visit her. I can never insult such a mum. She’s been good to me, and I love her,” he added.
The clarification comes after a flurry of social media posts sparked speculation about political tensions between Owino and the Odingas.
Owino’s statement aims to put the record straight and confirm that his relationship with the Odinga family remains strong and respectful.
