ODM youth leader Kasmuel McCoure has called on young party members to actively contribute to the party’s mission of building a modern, industrialised, and inclusive Kenya.
Speaking on Monday, McCoure emphasised the importance of every individual’s effort, whether engaging with a single citizen or addressing large gatherings.
McCoure highlighted that the party’s vision extends beyond political rallies, aiming for a nation where citizens enjoy social, economic, and democratic rights while living in dignity.
He urged young members to remain committed, noting that challenges such as misinformation, financial constraints, and systemic barriers should not discourage participation.
“The work of speaking to one person about ODM is just as valuable as addressing a rally of five thousand. Every effort counts, every voice matters,” McCoure stated.
The youth leader’s remarks come as Kenya approaches the 2027 general elections, with opposition parties like ODM intensifying mobilisation strategies.
ODM, founded by the late Raila Odinga, has historically relied on grassroots engagement and regional mobilisation, particularly in Nyanza, to sustain its political influence.
McCoure’s call reinforces this tradition, urging members to complement national campaigns with local action.
McCoure further encouraged young members to collaborate within their capacities, leveraging community networks and digital platforms to promote the party’s agenda.
He stressed that persistence and unity are critical in overcoming structural and financial challenges that often impede party outreach.
Political analysts note that youth mobilisation remains a central strategy for ODM, given that Kenyans aged 18–35 constitute a significant proportion of the electorate.
Active participation at the grassroots level has historically shaped outcomes in Kenyan elections, from local county assemblies to parliamentary seats.
McCoure reaffirmed his personal commitment to the party’s vision, calling on the youth to translate advocacy into consistent action.
“We confront many obstacles, but dedication to our cause is the most effective tool for lasting change,” he said, underscoring the role of young people in shaping Kenya’s political and social future.
