Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi on Monday met Jubilee Party county officials in Nairobi for a consultative forum focused on the party’s plans ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The session, convened by Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, brought together county-level leaders to review priorities and assess the party’s organisational readiness.
In a statement shared on X, Matiangi said the discussions centred on strengthening Jubilee’s internal structures and preparing a unified approach as political activities intensify nationally.
He told officials that the party must project discipline and uphold its founding principles as it reorganises.
Matiangi also advised party representatives to avoid public spats with rival political formations, saying Jubilee should concentrate on constructive engagement.
According to him, the party’s responsibility is to promote dialogue and persuasion rather than attacks that could heighten tensions within the wider political environment.
His remarks come at a time when several parties have begun early preparations for the next electoral cycle.
Many have been holding grassroots meetings, policy reviews, and membership recruitment drives as they position themselves for the 2027 contest.
For Jubilee, which has undergone internal transitions in recent years, the meeting was part of efforts to reinforce cohesion among county leaders.
Secretary General Kioni has previously stated that the party intends to rebuild its structures across the country and reassert its place in national politics.
Monday’s consultative forum is one of a series of engagements expected to run through the year as the party evaluates its messaging, alliances, and organisational strategy.
During the session, participants reportedly discussed priority areas that will shape the party’s agenda, including governance, economic policy, and public outreach.
While the party did not release additional details, officials indicated that further consultations will continue at regional and national levels.
Matiangi said the party must remain focused on its goals and operate with respect for all political actors.
He described internal discipline as central to rebuilding confidence among supporters and preparing for credible participation in the upcoming election cycle.
