Activist Boniface Mwangi has launched a scathing attack on Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, accusing him of turning a blind eye to the suffering of Kenyans caught up in Tanzania’s post-election chaos.
Mwangi said Mudavadi’s statement on the government’s diplomatic efforts with Tanzania was too little, too late, arguing that it failed to acknowledge the gravity of the situation.
He claimed that several Kenyans had been killed, detained, or gone missing since unrest broke out after the disputed election.
In a fiery post on X, the outspoken activist accused Mudavadi of offering meaningless reassurances while families of victims struggled to bring their loved ones’ bodies home.
“Kenyans are dying and you say nothing. We have families who can’t even travel to Tanzania to collect the remains of their relatives," Mwangi wrote.
Mwangi also linked the situation to wider failures in the government’s handling of cross-border incidents.
He pointed to the case of Tanzanian activist Maria Sarungi Tsehai, who last year survived an alleged abduction attempt in Nairobi, claiming Kenyan officials ignored reports implicating Tanzanian operatives.
He further criticized Mudavadi for what he called a pattern of inaction, citing the disappearance of two Kenyans, Bob Njagi and Nicholas Oyoo, in Uganda more than a month ago.
“You’re not fighting for their safe return,” he wrote.
