Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has officially conveyed her condolences to the Odinga family following the death of Madam Beryl Achieng’ Odinga, sister of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

 The governor described the loss as profound and extended sympathy to the family on behalf of both her office and the residents of Homa Bay County.

In her statement, Wanga specifically mentioned key members of the Odinga family, including Senator Dr Oburu Odinga, Cannon Mama Ida Odinga, Hon Ruth Odinga, and Dr Wenwa Akinyi, urging them to find strength and comfort during this difficult period. 

She also acknowledged the impact of Beryl Achieng’’s passing coming shortly after the death of Raila Odinga, which has intensified the family’s grief.

The Odinga family has been a central force in Kenya’s political history, with roots tracing back to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, Kenya’s first Vice President and a key figure in the struggle for independence.
