President William Ruto is mounting a full-scale campaign to secure victory for his Kenya Kwanza coalition in all seven parliamentary by-elections set for November 27.

Reports by the Sunday Standard indicate that the President has mobilized state resources, political allies, and administrative influence in what insiders describe as an all-out bid to dominate the mini-polls.

The report portrays a President determined to consolidate power ahead of the 2027 general election.

It notes that Ruto’s strategy includes the use of development promises, project launches, and coordinated outreach to local leaders in key battleground constituencies.

His administration is also said to be engaging in tactical defections and high-level negotiations designed to weaken the opposition.

Government officials and ruling party loyalists have been dispatched across the affected regions to rally support and ensure the party maintains control of Parliament.

Analysts quoted by the paper say the by-elections have turned into a crucial political test for the President, who is keen to demonstrate his coalition’s strength and unity amid rising opposition criticism.

According to the Sunday Standard, the President’s campaign machine has focused on leveraging state-backed projects as a tool of persuasion, with several pledges reportedly tied to regions hosting the by-elections.

Political observers believe this strategy underscores Ruto’s intent to secure not only immediate wins but also long-term influence in areas where the opposition previously held ground.

The opposition, however, has accused the government of employing intimidation tactics and using public resources to gain an unfair advantage.

While State House has not directly responded to the claims, officials within the administration maintain that the President is only advancing his development agenda while supporting his party’s candidates.

With campaigns entering their final stretch, the November 27 by-elections are shaping up as a decisive contest that could define Kenya’s political tone heading into 2027.

The results are expected to indicate whether Ruto’s aggressive approach will strengthen his control or embolden a resurgent opposition.
