Blogger Cyprian Nyakundi has sharply criticized Cornelius Ronoh, the Communications Officer for the Kenya African National Union (KANU), for pledging unwavering loyalty to KANU Chairman Gideon Moi after Moi's recent rapprochement with President William Ruto
Nyakundi, known for his candid political commentary, condemned Ronoh's declaration of allegiance, warning that such blind loyalty could be detrimental to both individuals and political movements.
“Blind loyalty has destroyed more great men than open opposition ever could. Every generation produces men who mistake servitude for loyalty… Nations, parties and movements fall apart when followers lose the courage to think," Nyakundi stated.
He emphasized that true leadership requires independence of thought and the courage to challenge even those one admires.
"A man who cannot stand on his own convictions is a danger to himself and to those who follow him," Nyakundi stated.
In response, Ronoh defended his position, asserting his political autonomy and plans to run for office in 2027.
He dismissed Nyakundi's criticism, stating, “Ndugu Cyprian Nyakundi, the campaign you are waging against me for my loyalty to my boss, Gideon Moi, will not intimidate me.Please direct your energy toward something meaningful."
Ronoh clarified that he has not publicly commented on the current regime, suggesting that his loyalty is to Gideon Moi rather than any political alignment
