Former Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) David Osiany has paid glowing tribute to two men he says embodied loyalty and friendship in the life of the late Raila Odinga — Nigeria’s former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Kenyan businessman SK Macharia.

In a moving Facebook post reflecting on Raila’s passing, Osiany described the two as “true brothers” who stood by the ODM leader through every storm of his political journey.

He said their devotion went beyond politics, rooted instead in affection, duty, and a rare sense of brotherhood.

“Over the years, these two men have consistently been by Raila’s side,” Osiany wrote. “SK Macharia actually said before that supporting Raila was a duty — a promise he made to Jaramogi. He never let him down.”

The former CAS praised Macharia, the Royal Media Services founder, for using his vast resources — from financial support to media platforms — to back Raila’s leadership ambitions, even under threats from the state.

“He spent billions for Raila’s dream of leading Kenya,” Osiany noted.

Osiany also celebrated Obasanjo’s steadfast solidarity, recalling how the Nigerian leader was once jailed after attending the inauguration of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga’s mausoleum at Raila’s request.

“He never stopped supporting Baba,” Osiany said, adding that Obasanjo later mobilized African leaders during Raila’s African Union Commission campaign.

He described the two men’s loyalty as “the kind of friendship that transcends bloodlines,” saying few people today could match such devotion.

“I pray that God may send my way an Obasanjo and a Macharia,” Osiany wrote in conclusion. “All leaders need such people — all human beings need such. Sleep Baba. It shall be well.”
