Land disputes are not new in Kisii. I grew up watching families break apart over boundaries, title deeds, and inheritance. 


But I never imagined that greed would push me to the edge of something beyond explanation.


After my elder brother passed away, he left behind land meant to be shared between his two children. 


As their uncle, I was appointed to help with documentation. At first, my intentions seemed clean. I told myself I was only protecting the property until they were old enough.


But along the way, temptation began whispering. The land had grown in value. Buyers were making offers.
