When 29-year-old Faith Atieno from Kisumu locked herself in the bedroom that night, she says she had already accepted her marriage was over.
For months, tension had been building between her and her husband Brian. Small disagreements over money had turned into daily arguments.
Trust was fading. Respect was slipping. Even their five year old daughter had started asking why mummy and daddy no longer laughed together.
“It felt like we were roommates, not partners,” Faith recalls. “Every conversation ended in silence or shouting.”
