Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has intensified his public clash with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of orchestrating a smear campaign aimed at spreading false claims about his health.

In a strongly worded message shared on X, Kuria dismissed reports alleging that he was sick and admitted to hospital, terming them propaganda pushed by bloggers allied to Gachagua.

He insisted the claims were fabricated and meant to discredit him politically.

“Dear Rigathi Gachagua. You have sent your fake lapdogs to spread propaganda that I am in hospital. Sorry to disappoint you,” Kuria wrote.

He accused the former deputy president of resorting to underhand political tactics to silence critics, adding that such moves would not deter him from raising questions about Maureen Kinyua, an issue he said remained unresolved.

Kuria’s latest remarks come amid days of sustained online attacks directed at Gachagua, reflecting widening rifts among leaders who were once political allies.

The former CS has repeatedly faulted Gachagua over what he describes as major leadership and political errors.

Among the incidents Kuria has cited is a controversial burial ceremony held on a Saturday in Kiambu County for the mother of Embakasi North MP James Gakuya.

The event attracted criticism after Lamu Woman Representative Muthoni Marubu was reportedly jeered during the proceedings, an episode Kuria has used to question Gachagua’s political judgment and tolerance.

In his most recent post, Kuria escalated the rhetoric further, alleging that Gachagua and what he described as a “fake pastor” would be held accountable, though he did not provide supporting evidence.
