President William Ruto has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to partnering with faith-based and community institutions in driving Kenya’s economic and social transformation, citing the Dawoodi Bohra community as a key contributor to national development.

Speaking during a visit to the Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Nairobi campus in Karen, Nairobi County, President Ruto praised the community’s longstanding investments in housing, healthcare, and education, noting their role in supporting inclusive growth.

He said institutions such as Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah, a global Arabic academy, have continued to shape learning, values, and social cohesion in the country.

The President said the government is keen on strengthening collaboration with the Dawoodi Bohra community as part of its broader ambition to transition Kenya into a first-world economy.

He emphasized that education remains central to this agenda, with a renewed focus on equipping learners with practical and future-oriented skills.

Ruto reiterated the administration’s target of ensuring that at least 60 per cent of learners acquire competencies in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

He said the move is aimed at building a skilled workforce capable of supporting industrial growth, innovation, and economic competitiveness.

The education agenda, he added, is being supported by major infrastructure investments under the government’s development plan.

These include the generation of 10,000 megawatts of energy, construction of 30,000 kilometres of roads, development of a modern airport, and reforms aimed at transforming the health sector.

During the visit, President Ruto toured the Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah campus and interacted with community leaders.

In attendance were His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, Shahzada Qaidjoher Ezzuddin, the rector of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah, and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, among other leaders.

The visit underscored the government’s push to leverage partnerships with private, religious, and community-based institutions to accelerate Kenya’s development goals.
