When my uncle passed away, I never imagined his death would pull me into the darkest chapter of my life. He had no children of his own, and everyone knew I was his favorite.
He raised me like a daughter, paid my school fees, and promised that one day I would inherit the small properties and savings he had worked for all his life.
When the lawyer confirmed it after his burial, I felt both grief and relief. At least his love had not died with him.
The relief did not last. Barely three weeks after the inheritance was released, everything vanished.
