Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has expressed deep condolences following the death of Prof. Donald Siamba, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Kibabii University.
In a statement shared on X, Barasa described Prof. Siamba as a distinguished scholar whose life was devoted to advancing education in Kenya.
“Prof. Siamba played a key role in mentoring young people, strengthening academic institutions, and championing access to quality education for all,” Barasa said, highlighting the late academic’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders.
Barasa noted that the loss is particularly felt in Kimilili and across Bungoma County, where Prof. Siamba was revered not only for his intellectual contributions but also for his humility and selfless service to the community.
“As the people of Kimilili and Bungoma County, we mourn a leader of wisdom, humility, and selfless service. His legacy will continue to inspire generations,” the MP added.
The lawmaker also prayed for strength and solace for the family, relatives, and friends of the late academic.
“May God grant comfort, strength, and peace to all those affected during this difficult time,” he said.
Prof. Siamba’s career at Kibabii University was marked by significant strides in academic leadership, including initiatives to expand access to higher education and support for research and innovation.
