Kenya Power has announced planned power maintenance affecting several regions across the country on Tuesday, 27th January 2026. The scheduled outages will impact both residential and commercial customers, with timings varying by location.
In Nairobi, affected areas include parts of Ngong, Kawangware, and Kibera.
Power will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., impacting locations such as Riara Road, Bamboo Lane, Talanta Stadium, Junction Mall, Ngando, Dagoretti Corner, Lenana School, and adjacent customers.
The North Rift region will also experience outages in parts of Uasin Gishu County, including Kapkatembu and Ngenyileel, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Additionally, Kapkatembu, Kapkenyeloi, and the vicinity of Railway Hotel and Premium Hotel in Maili Nne will be without electricity between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Western Kenya is set to experience interruptions in parts of Kisumu and Kakamega counties. In Kisumu, Farm Machineries, Grand Royal Swiz Hotel, Bance Park, and Kiboswa will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, in Kakamega’s Malava area, including Samisi, Malava Market, and West Kenya Sugar, power will be unavailable from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Residents in South Nyanza, Murang’a, Meru, Embu, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, and Kiambu counties are also set to experience temporary outages between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., depending on the area.
Affected locations include Pala and Nyatoto in Homa Bay, Ndithini Mission in Murang’a, Gakoromone and Gia-ki in Meru, Masinga and Kitangani in Embu, Gathigiriri Prison in Kirinyaga, Katheri in Laikipia, and Thindigua, Kiangombe, and Gikambura in Kiambu.
Kenya Power urged all affected customers to plan accordingly and take necessary precautions during the maintenance period.
The utility company stated that the work is essential to ensure reliable electricity supply and improve network performance across the country.
The company also advised customers to report any emergencies or queries to Kenya Power’s customer service channels.
