For many years, unemployment defined my life. Every morning, I woke up with the same routine: open my phone, search for job openings, update my CV again, and send applications. Some days I sent ten, sometimes twenty.
I believed that if I kept trying, something would eventually work. But days turned into months, and months turned into years — with nothing to show for it.
I attended interviews full of hope. I dressed my best, borrowed transport money, and rehearsed my answers. Some interviews went well, or so I thought. “We will get back to you,” they said politely.
