Nigerian influencer Oku has sparked debate online after commenting on American streamer Ishowspeed’s recent tour of Nigeria.
According to Oku, the gaming star’s experience in Lagos left much to be desired.
Oku broke down what he saw during Ishowspeed’s visit.
From the start, video quality was reportedly poor, leading fans to joke whether he was streaming from a POS machine.
Unlike his seamless streams in other countries, Nigeria’s setup seemed unprepared.
Tourist sites, which usually make international streams exciting, reportedly failed to impress.
Instead, the streets were crowded with beggars, and touts outside shops added to the chaos.
Oku also called out Nigerian personalities who misinterpreted Ishowspeed’s intentions.
Rather than helping him highlight Africa on the global stage, they allegedly pushed collaborations that didn’t align with the streamer’s vision.
He didn’t hold back on criticizing local hype culture.
“Weird ass mofos y’all made popular… dumb ass mofos with no active cerebrum and weak knees after seeing a 21-year-old,” Oku tweeted, pointing to the disconnect between local influencers and international visitors.
He closed with a pointed question for Nigerians: “If na your brother, you go allow am spend one more night here?”
