13 Years of Neglect: Kalonzo Promises to Rescue Northern Kenya

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has condemned the persistent underdevelopment in Northern Kenya, attributing the region’s struggles to leaders who divert public resources for personal gain.

Speaking on X, Kalonzo said it is “extremely sad” that, 13 years after devolution, communities in the region still lack basic services such as schools, hospitals, and infrastructure.

According to the veteran politician, much of the funding intended for local development is instead taken to Nairobi, leaving residents in poverty and neglect.

“Everything is taken to Nairobi, while communities are left in poverty, neglect, and hopelessness,” he said.

Kalonzo pledged that Wiper, as a “government in waiting,” would correct these failings by ensuring that resources are properly invested in Northern Kenya.

He promised that no region would be left behind and that devolution would finally deliver tangible benefits to the people.

The Wiper leader’s statement comes amid growing frustration in arid and semi-arid counties, where despite government allocations, basic services remain largely inaccessible.

Kalonzo emphasized that Northern Kenya deserves “dignity, development, and leadership that puts people first,” vowing to prioritize infrastructure, education, and healthcare in the region.

Kalonzo concluded by assuring residents that, under Wiper leadership, Northern Kenya would no longer be ignored and that the region’s development needs would finally receive the attention they deserve.
