Friday’s Daily Nation splashes a damning exposé on the troubled Sh23 billion industrial parks project, once touted as a game-changer for jobs and county industrialisation.
The paper reveals that nearly three years after the initiative was launched, not a single one of the 47 counties has completed an industrial park, even as Sh5 billion has already been spent.
He says the plan was to turn counties into industrial hubs, employ hundreds of young people, and build a “real Singapore” from the grassroots, but the dream was lost along the way.
The scandal paints a grim picture of half-built structures turned into white elephants across the country.
Even more troubling, the government is set to pump in an extra Sh4.4 billion this year, raising fresh questions about accountability, oversight, and value for taxpayers’ money.
