My name is Daniel Otieno, and I live in Ruaka, Kiambu County, just a few kilometers from Nairobi. I moved into the house with my wife Janet Otieno and our daughter Sheila after getting a new job in Westlands.
The house looked perfect—quiet neighborhood, friendly neighbors, and affordable rent.
At first, life was peaceful. We settled in quickly and believed we had finally found a place we could call home.
The strange things started after the first two weeks. Every night, at exactly 3:00 a.m., I would wake up suddenly. At first, I thought it was stress from work.
Then I started hearing sounds—soft footsteps in the corridor, the sound of chairs being dragged, and sometimes light knocking on the bedroom wall.
