Renowned travel entrepreneur Simon Kabu has expressed his pride in his daughter, Maurine Kabu, who is celebrating a remarkable first year in the tourism industry.

In a heartfelt social media post, Simon revealed that Maurine’s company, Adequate Safaris, will be handling over 1,200 clients across multiple countries for Christmas celebrations next week.

“Guys, let me tell you something … Imagine next week my daughter Maurine Kabu will be taking over 1,200 clients across different countries for Christmas celebrations … in just her first year of starting Adequate Safaris. To be honest, nalengwa lengwa na machozi,” he wrote.

Her achievement is a rare milestone in a sector still recovering from the pandemic, where many small operators have struggled to attract international bookings.

Adequate Safaris’ ability to secure thousands of travellers from various countries for the festive season is being hailed by industry watchers as a sign of growing demand for East African tourism.

Maurine’s success is attributed to her approach, which combines personalised travel packages with targeted digital marketing.

Clients from Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, and the UK have reportedly signed up for her services.

Sources within the company say that customised itineraries and flexible payment options have been key selling points.

Simon Kabu, founder and CEO of Bonfire Adventures, has built a strong reputation over nearly two decades in the travel industry.

His public praise of Maurine highlights her rapid rise and signals the emergence of next‑generation leadership in Kenyan tourism.
