Controversial Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo described his Thursday meeting with President William Ruto at State House Nairobi as a “highly honoured” occasion, praising the Kenyan leader’s developmental agenda and personal guidance.

In a statement shared publicly, Chivayo referred to Kenya as his “second home” and lauded Ruto for offering “a treasured opportunity” to discuss life, purpose, and national progress.

He highlighted that the discussion focused on Kenya’s achievements in 2025 and the government’s plans for 2026.

Chivayo emphasized Ruto’s commitment to implementing the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, noting the President’s drive to expand electricity access and improve road infrastructure across rural areas.

“Kazi ni kazi… Work is work!” Chivayo quoted, reflecting Ruto’s insistence on diligent efforts toward national development.

The businessman also extended festive greetings, wishing the President, First Lady, and their family a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2026.

He expressed gratitude for Ruto’s guidance and reaffirmed his support for the realization of Kenya’s development plans.

Chivayo’s remarks come amid ongoing scrutiny over his business dealings in the region, with critics frequently questioning his past government contracts and financial conduct.

Despite this, his public admiration for Ruto’s leadership signals continued engagement between influential private figures and the Kenyan presidency.

Chivayo concluded his message with prayers for national prosperity and the well-being of all Kenyans, framing the meeting as both a personal and patriotic engagement with the country’s leadership.
