My name is Linet, and for as long as I can remember, my family has been everything to me. Growing up in Kisumu, life was never easy.
My parents struggled to make ends meet, and when my older siblings moved out, the responsibility of supporting the younger ones fell squarely on my shoulders. I promised myself that no matter what, I would make their lives easier once I got a steady job.
After finishing college, I landed a decent job in Nairobi. The salary wasn’t huge, but it was enough to start sending money home. Every month, without fail, I would transfer part of my earnings to my parents and siblings, covering school fees, household expenses, and medical bills.
