ODM Youth Leader McOure Hails Success of Mombasa Event

ODM youth leader Kasmuel McOure has described the recent ODM Youth Event in Mombasa as a milestone for party engagement and youth participation.

McOure, who served on the steering committee for the event, credited the success to the leadership of ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga and Governor Gladys Wanga.

Speaking in a statement on X, McOure said the opportunity allowed him to work closely with the current Youth League leadership, building rapport and gaining deeper insight into the party’s political planning processes.

He also highlighted his personal contribution, performing the “Final Post” in memory of Raila Odinga during the event.

The event, held over several days leading up to September 26, brought together youth leaders from across the Coast, including chapters led by Hamza and Civilizer.

McOure commended the Comrade Chapters and Young Captains for their active participation, as well as the Youth League under President Ketorah for supporting the organisation despite earlier internal differences.

Despite facing challenges such as financial constraints, overwhelming attendance, and logistical pressures typical of youth-driven events, McOure said all issues were addressed promptly or remain under active resolution.

He emphasized that these challenges underscored a growing and active youth wing within the party, signaling a promising future for ODM.

“The party is growing, the youth are rising, and the future is abundant with possibility,” McOure said.

He added that his experience strengthened his resolve to serve wherever duty calls and reaffirmed his commitment to uplifting young party members and innovating within the movement.

The Mombasa gathering, now described by McOure as the most spectacular ODM Youth event yet, marks a key moment in the party’s engagement with younger members.

It also highlights the ongoing effort to bridge generational and operational gaps within the party structure, reinforcing ODM’s appeal to the next generation of leaders.
