Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has expressed condolences following the death of Hon. Joseph Munyao, describing the late politician as a figure of wisdom and public service.
Munyao, who served as the Member of Parliament for Mbooni and held various ministerial positions, is remembered for his dedication to national development.
In a statement, Gachagua highlighted Munyao’s resilience and commitment to public service.
“Hon. Joseph Munyao’s passing leaves a significant gap in Mbooni constituency where he served as a legislator.
As a Cabinet Minister, he served with dedication and patriotism, impacting many lives and contributing to national progress,” Gachagua said.
Munyao’s political career spanned several decades, during which he championed development initiatives in Mbooni and beyond.
His tenure as an MP coincided with key reforms in the Ministry he served, and he played a role in advancing local infrastructure and community welfare programs.
Gachagua extended sympathies to Munyao’s family, friends, and constituents.
“On my own behalf and on behalf of my family, I pass my deepest sympathies to the family, friends of Hon. Munyao, and the people of Mbooni. May they find peace and strength during this difficult moment,” he stated.
Munyao’s death marks the loss of an experienced legislator and public servant at a time when Mbooni constituency continues to navigate political and developmental challenges.
His contributions as a Cabinet Minister and legislator are remembered as part of Kenya’s evolving political landscape.
