President William Ruto on Sunday hosted members of the Akorino community at State House, Nairobi, in a meeting that brought together church leaders and representatives marking a decade since the launch of their annual conference.

During the engagement, Gospel singer, philanthropist and influencer Karangu Muraya addressed the gathering, reflecting on the growth of the church conference that began in 2016.

He noted that the forum had consistently brought together members of the denomination over the years and had now reached its tenth anniversary milestone.

Karangu told the President that the delegation had gathered at State House as part of the commemoration of the ten-year journey.

“Mr President, you should know that this church conference started in 2016, and now it is ten years old. We have been meeting every year, and today as we mark our tenth anniversary, we have come to State House,” he said.

Beyond the historical reflection, Karangu made a striking revelation during his remarks, linking the milestone to what he described as a spiritual message shared within the church leadership.

He claimed that during prayers, church elders received a message interpreted as a prophecy concerning President Ruto’s time in office.

According to him, the message was conveyed through reverends within the ministry, suggesting a symbolic alignment between the church’s ten-year journey and the President’s leadership trajectory.

Karangu stated that the revelation was communicated respectfully and within a spiritual context.

“When the Holy Spirit spoke, it spoke to our reverends and told them that now that this church has reached ten years, President Ruto will also serve ten years in State House,” he said, emphasising that the message was delivered in a manner he described as reverent and considerate.

The remarks sparked attention within the gathering, coming at a time when religious institutions continue to play a visible role in Kenya’s political and social engagements.

The Akorino community, known for its strong cultural identity and structured church leadership, has in recent years increased its participation in national forums and State House events.

President Ruto, who has frequently engaged faith-based organisations since assuming office, has maintained that religious leaders remain key partners in promoting unity, development and moral leadership in the country.

Sunday’s meeting added to a series of consultations between the Head of State and religious groups, underscoring the continued intersection between faith and politics in Kenya’s public life.
