“We Fought Sometimes, But Our Bond Only Grew Stronger” MP Oscar Sudi Pens Emotional Statement After Johana Ngeno’s Tragic Death

Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has shared an emotional tribute following the death of Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ngeno, describing their friendship as one built on loyalty, shared struggles and unwavering support.


In a statement released after news of Ngeno’s fatal helicopter crash in Mosop, Nandi County, Sudi reflected on their long-standing bond, recalling moments that went beyond political collaboration. 


He revealed that August 17, 2018, remains a date he will never forget. 


According to Sudi, he personally accompanied Ngeno on that day to meet the woman who would later become his wife. He described the occasion as an engagement filled with hope, laughter and optimism about the future.


“We were more than just friends — we were family,” Sudi stated. “We travelled together, laughed together and even fought sometimes, but through it all, our bond only grew stronger.”


The Kapseret legislator also remembered standing beside Ngeno as he prepared to settle down, saying he proudly wore a Maasai shuka while encouraging his colleague to embrace marriage. 


He termed the moment symbolic of the trust and brotherhood they shared.


Beyond personal memories, Sudi praised Ngeno’s commitment to leadership, noting that his passion for politics and dedication to the people of Emurua Dikirr defined his public life. 


He said Ngeno remained focused on development issues affecting his constituents and consistently advocated for their interests.


Sudi admitted he was shattered when he received news of the crash that claimed Ngeno’s life, describing the loss as painful and difficult to process. 


“When I received the news of his passing, I was shattered. The pain is unbearable and the loss is unimaginable, but I pray that his legacy will continue to guide and inspire us.”


He extended his condolences to the bereaved family and residents of Emurua Dikirr, urging them to remain united during the mourning period.


“Rest in peace, my brother and friend. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in the hearts of the people you served.”
