Murang’a County was rocked by a chilling murder in September 2025 when 53-year-old mother of six, Hannah Wanjiku Kiiru, was found dead under gruesome circumstances, her body treated like ordinary cargo.
Hannah, a resident of Njiiris village, had recently left an abusive marriage in Mairi, seeking to rebuild her life. She had moved into a small rented house, working in local tea fields, and drawing strength from her faith after years of domestic violence.
On the evening of September 23, a taxi driver operating along the Makomboki–Kangari route was approached by a man in a black hoodie.
