Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has launched the 2026 edition of the Kiharu Masomo Bora Programme, a constituency-wide education initiative aimed at improving access and learning outcomes in public day secondary schools.

The programme was officially unveiled at Maragi Primary School grounds, following earlier launches at Gaturi Grounds, Kahuhia Secondary School grounds and Kahuro Secondary School grounds.

Nyoro said the initiative targets over 12,000 learners across all 65 day secondary schools in Kiharu Constituency.

Under the programme, learners will pay a subsidised school fee of Sh500 per term starting Term One, 2026. Schools will also provide lunch from Monday to Saturday, with chapati scheduled to be served on the last Friday of every month.

Nyoro stated that the programme is open to all Kenyan learners who enroll in day secondary schools within Kiharu, provided they have accommodation arrangements within the constituency.

He said the initiative is designed to reduce the financial burden on parents while keeping learners in school.

The MP added that Kiharu NG-CDF will fund revision materials and support infrastructural development, including the construction and upgrading of science laboratories in participating schools.

He said the investments are intended to improve academic performance and strengthen learning facilities.

Nyoro thanked leaders and stakeholders who attended the launch, including elected representatives, parents, learners, local groups and residents of Kiharu.

He said the programme reflects a broader commitment to community-driven development, noting that education remains a key pillar of social and economic progress in the constituency.

The Kiharu Masomo Bora Programme has become one of Nyoro’s flagship education interventions since his election to Parliament.
