A woman has shared a shocking experience with her Facebook followers after discovering that her housemaid had kept a personal photograph of her, raising concerns about privacy and trust in domestic employment.
According to the post shared by influencer Nkechi Francisca, the incident began after her housemaid returned from the Christmas holidays with a noticeably changed appearance and attitude.
“Since January my housemaid came back with a totally different attitude,” she wrote.
Nkechi noted that the maid had undergone microblading on her eyebrows and started dressing in revealing outfits, including crop tops and short skirts, despite repeated warnings.
“She responded, ‘Ma, I’m an adult,’” Nkechi recounted.
Despite attempts to set boundaries regarding appropriate attire in the house, the maid continued to wear makeup and clothing Nkechi deemed unsuitable.
Eventually, Nkechi decided that the maid would leave the house after collecting her salary on the 23rd of the month.
The situation took a more alarming turn when Nkechi visited the maid’s room to collect the items she had been asked to surrender.
While sorting through the maid’s bag, Nkechi found a photograph of herself, which she claimed was one she had taken years ago and had labeled with her full name seven times on the back.
“I noticed a picture looking like me, and my full name was written on the back seven times,” she wrote.
Nkechi said the discovery left her shocked and uneasy. Despite questioning the maid, she has not received any explanation regarding why the photo was in her possession.
“I have been asking her what she is doing with my picture, but she has not given me any answer,” she said.
Her husband advised letting the maid leave quietly, but Nkechi insisted that legal action is necessary. She stated that the maid should be arrested until she clarifies why she kept the photograph.
The incident has sparked debate online, with many social media users highlighting the importance of trust and boundaries between employers and domestic workers.
Others questioned the maid’s intentions, while some urged calm and proper legal channels to resolve the matter.
