Kilifi North MP Owen Baya has praised strong performances by several secondary schools in his constituency following the release of the 2025 KCSE results, terming the outcomes a clear sign of steady academic progress.
In a message shared on social media, Baya singled out St. Thomas Girls Senior School for an impressive showing, noting that the results were remarkable for a young institution recently elevated to county school status.
“For a young school… to perform exceedingly well fills me with joy,” he said, describing the achievement as proof that deliberate investment in teachers, infrastructure, and student exposure can deliver results.
The MP said the school met specific academic targets that had been set earlier, including cutting down on low grades and improving overall performance.
“When I said you must reduce the number of D+ and below, you did exactly that,” Baya noted, adding that the increase in quality grades showed that “hard work and strategy works.”
According to Baya, the results support his long-held view that students admitted with modest entry grades can still excel if given the right environment and guidance.
He described the progress at St. Thomas Girls as “steady, real and promising,” and encouraged the school to sustain the momentum.
Baya also congratulated Bahari Girls Secondary School, praising what he called a major transformation in recent years.
“You are making us proud all the time,” he said, urging the institution to continue building on its gains.
Education stakeholders in Kilifi County have pointed to improved infrastructure, targeted leadership, and accountability as key factors behind rising KCSE outcomes.
Baya said the latest results show that with focus and commitment, public schools in Kilifi North can compete strongly at the county and national level.
